“What Hair4Care is doing is amazing. We mothers rarely have time for ourselves because we are always caring for our children during treatment. Thank you so much.” Another added, “Wow, I haven’t had a manicure since I left Israel. This is incredible.” One of the sweet children undergoing treatment said, “I love the color pink. Thank you.” These were just a few of the heartfelt comments from children undergoing treatment and their parents at Hair4Care’s event, hosted in partnership with the Chabad of Tribeca and SoHo. The event, held on Sunday, April 6th, 2025, welcomed several families from Israel who had recently relocated to the United States so their children could receive cancer treatment.
In partnership with Valery Joseph Salon, Hair4Care provided free manicures for both the children undergoing treatment and their parents. Mothers and daughters, along with siblings, were seen getting matching manicures, laughing, smiling, and singing together throughout the day.
Many of these parents spend day and night at their diagnosed child’s side, bringing them to appointments, helping them cope with treatments and the emotional and physical side effects that come with it, and making sure their children feel joy and normalcy beyond the hospital walls through events like these. Hair4Care brought comfort and care to the parents, many of whom have not had a moment to focus on themselves in a long time.
To celebrate the upcoming holiday of Passover, the Chabad of Tribeca and SoHo also organized engaging activities like matzah baking and seder plate painting. Families enjoyed games like basketball, air hockey, and foosball, along with a delicious lunch spread and music that had everyone singing and dancing.
Events like these not only give children undergoing treatment the chance to connect with others in similar situations but also provide parents with the opportunity to meet and emotionally bond with others who truly understand the challenges they are facing during these hard times.
